Shakespeare’s Birds: 1,000-Piece Puzzle
“It was the nightingale, and not the lark,
That pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear.
Nightly she sings on yond pomegranate tree.
Believe me, love, it was the nightingale.”
—Romeo and Juliet (III, v)
The Bard knew his birds, and frequently referred to them in his works: sixty-four species are mentioned on 606 occasions across his poems and plays.
Created by Rebecca Harris, this intricate circular puzzle celebrates the birds found throughout the works of William Shakespeare. Each box also includes a twelve-page guide to the birds of the Bard, which lays out the quotations from the plays and poems that mention each bird. Thoughtfully designed, the box is free of plastic wrapping.
